two cocker spaniels, Molly and Minuet (Minnie), whom they adore.
Heidi and Dan are expecting a new baby boy in August 2009!

Indiana

Education degree and received his Master's Degree in 2008. He is the
assistant principal at an elementary school in Indianapolis, IN. Tim

They all hate to miss a BIG RED
game.
We
have two critters —two dogs, Trav, a golden retriever, and Sassy, a
Yorkshire Terrier —that are a part of our family.
EDUCATION
& TEACHING
I
earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from
Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, Oklahoma the spring of
1976. First grade in
Bowring, Oklahoma was my first teaching experience.
After my husband graduated from college, we moved to Kansas
where I taught Special Reading and 7th grade Reading in
Jamestown, Kansas. Over
the past years since my graduation from college, I have taught
children in a variety of positions--Bible schools, children’s
worship times, organized and taught pre-schools at camps, Kids’ Camp
classes in Bible, nature, etc., substitute teaching in the public
school-both long and short term.
Working with children has always been a joy to me.
In
1997, I took training with
Parents As Teachers, an international
program for parents who are their child’s first and most influential
teachers. I worked
part time with the Aberdeen Area Parents As Teachers program starting
in
October 1997. This program is primarily home visits to families with
children prenatal-3 years old. I
really got attached to the families that I worked with and saw many
positive benefits of the program.
The program was grant funded therefore no longer serving families in
our area.
In
the fall of 1999, I took a position with the Ipswich School District
due to a government grant for classroom size reduction.
I am enjoying being in the classroom setting and the
children benefit with a smaller teacher/student ratio.
I taught two years in 3rd grade, one year in 4th grade, one
year in 5th grade, and one year in 6th grade. The fall of 2004 I
took the position of Title I Reading and am really enjoying this new
challenge.
PERSONAL
NOTE
My
favorite pastimes are reading, cross-stitching gifts, shopping,
scrapbooking, and traveling.
God
has been faithful and present help in my life and the life of my
family. I thank Him for
all the blessings and strength He give me day by day.
